The Liptones story begun in Tidaholm 1997 when singer
and guitarist Mo Brodén and bassplayer Mårten
started "Monk"-a 2 piceband that played ska
with a very punky edge to it. Soon Mo´s old punkbandmate
and drummer Kaka joined forces and they changed their
name to The Liptones!...but what is a skaband without
horns..nothing,! So trumpetyoungster Snick and the mighty
saxophonegod PA gave The Liptones that good ska feeling
that they needed! Now The Liptones were ready for some
serious action and started to get a reputation as a good
liveband but something was missing..a Hammond organ ofcourse!
.. Henke got the job and in the spring 2000 The Liptones
were complete.
  A few demos were recorded before swedish Skalabel A.M.T.Y
Records singed The Liptones and full-lengthalbum "Latest
News" was relesed in 2002 followed up by the Ep "Espandrillos" in
2003. A splitsingle with their good friends The Bustups
was also relesed .
 Their second full -length album "In English" was relesed
in 2006 and The Liptones is now considered as one of
Swedens biggest skabands and with many tours in Sweden
and Europe they have a strong reputation as a hell of
a live act!
